Digital traffic act files
for Mödling
In Mödling’s Transport Department paper files were piling up, because each traffic sign and road marking is based upon administration acts and their documentation meanwhile contains 120 filing folders.
The administration of the Transportation Department has been digitalized step by step during the last years and state-of-the-art IT solutions are in use now. During this process activities at provincial and national level of course were considered. The road network is documented in the Austrian-wide platform called GIP (Graph Integration Platform), the traffic sign register and the linkage to legal relevant regulation files is done with the IT tool “Regulation Assistant”, which is provided by the Federal State.
Now the Transportation Department does not need paper files any more. In the course of the latest project all files with in total 3,750 regulations were digitalized and linked with the existing IT solution. All information about traffic signs and road markings including all administration documents are easily available at a glance. Daily routine as well as traffic planning and management are supported in a modern way now.
This innovative project is financially supported by the Federal State of Lower Austria.
