How intelligent management of Park & Ride facilities supports multimodality

Parking and the management of stationary traffic: We are familiar with this challenge and have already been able to prove it in numerous projects. Florian Hilti and Timo Gröning from PRISMA solutions will talk about this topic at UTC 2023, the Urban Transport Conference in Frankfurt am Main.

In their lecture on March 27th, 2023, entitled "The importance of intelligent management of park & ride facilities for their success", they show possibilities for intelligent management of park & ride facilities. This includes analysis and forecast of parking space occupancy, integrated booking and payment as well as intelligent routing to the next free P&R parking space. Using the example of the Austrian Federal Railways, which is currently rolling out a new system for Park & Ride across the board, they show how multimodal travel can become more attractive - for example with real-time information for users and through linked routing solutions. In order to function perfectly, this requires cooperation and exchange between municipalities, providers of mobility services and network operators. And that is our motivation. Because intelligent systems can contribute to making sustainable mobility behavior more attractive. Not only users and mobility providers benefit from this, but also cities and regions that can sustainably improve the modal shift and thus the mobility situation.
