The conference is indeed a “Green Event”

Who hasn't heard of MobiMeter®? Certainly most of you. Because MobiMeter® takes mobility surveys to a whole new level.

Whether in regional or municipal mobility management, in traffic planning or in operational mobility management: MobiMeter® recognizes the distances covered as well as the means of transport used and thus allows evaluations that were unthinkable in this quality until recently.

Recently, for the first time we were able to demonstrate the benefits of MobiMeter® in connection with an international conference. The GI_Salzburg22, which has always been the largest geoinformatics event in the German-speaking area, has been considered a "green event" for many years. But how "green" is the arrival of the conference participants? Together with the organizer, we brought the "GI_Journey; the mobility (arriving) journey” to life: the arrival modalities of the conference guests – many of them experts from the mobility sector – were recorded by tracking. Almost 24,000 km of routes were recorded and evaluated with MobiMeter®.

During the conference - almost in real time - the results were presented to the participants in the form of diagrams, mobility curves and interconnection maps. And it turned out to be true: only about a quarter of the kilometers were traveled by car or plane. During the conference more than 90% of the stages were covered on foot, by bike or by public transport.

Conclusion: the GI_Salzburg22 is rightly called a "Green Event"!
