Optimization of the on-demand traffic service with MobiMeter®

The Mobility Strategy for the Rhine-Main agglomeration includes promotion of on-demand offers and calls for an exploration of alternatives beyond individual transport.

The “Hopper” has been contributing to these goals for two years now. The on-demand transport service, launched as a pilot project in 2019, complements public transport in the Offenbach region, offers mobility with a high degree of flexibility, without a rigid timetable - and has gained a high level of acceptance.

In order to always be able to design and update the service in a customer-oriented manner, a better understanding of the mobility behavior of the Hopper customers is desirable. MobiMeter®, the innovative tool for recording and analyzing mobility behavior from PRISMA solutions, helps here. Which role does Hopper play in customers' everyday mobility? How does the customer behave, if there is no Hooper available? How can this knowledge be used to acquire new customers? In order to be able to answer such questions, the mobility behavior of around 300 Hopper customers will be analyzed.

After a concentrated survey phase in autumn 2021, valuable findings for optimizing the Hopper service will be available still within this year - stay tuned!
