Paving the way for a Mobility Observatory
Concept study KOMOA completed
The great importance of up-to-date and meaningful situation reports on mobility is increasingly being recognised; after all, it is important to meet the demand for mobility while at the same time minimising the potentially negative effects of traffic. This requirement provided the impetus for KOMOA, a concept study for a Mobility Observatory Austria in 2022. Within the framework of the 18th call for proposals of the FFG programme "Mobility of the Future", the options for a nationwide mobility observatory were explored in a project commissioned by the BMK.
After a phase of identifying and classifying possible data types and sources as well as usage requirements for different target groups, we at PRISMA were responsible for developing robust implementation models and recommendations for action. In the course of this, we illuminated the different roles of stakeholders and presented possible expansion stages of such an observatory.
PRISMA cooperated in KOMOA under the leadership of the University of Salzburg, Department of Geoinformatics, with the partners Herry Consult, Salzburg Research, tbw research, the Austrian Institute of Technology, as well as with the support of 15 strategic partners from administration, economy and science
We are pleased that we were able to provide useful input for the future use of mobility data in Austria with our contribution!
